HOME INSPECTION IN-TRAINING and EXAM PREPARATION PROGRAM

The Arizona School of Home Inspection, a division of Educational Systems, LTD., Inc. is located at 7142 East First Street, Scottsdale, Arizona and has been in adult education since 1969. Since then, the school has grown to be one of the most respected private educational institutions in the country. A unique teaching format, coupled with a select group of instructors and administrators, has given the school its deserved reputation.
The school offers courses covering Home Inspection License Training as approved by the Arizona Board of Technical Registration's requirements for Home Inspectors.
APPLICATION AND FEES
All persons wanting to conduct home inspections must now make application for certification.
All persons must have a High School Diploma or a General Educational Development Test (GED). A Home Inspector Certification application can be accessed online by using the internet address: btr.state.az.us/hi_appmain.htm., and should be submitted to the Board of Technical Registration with the following information.
1. An original and one copy of the completed application.
2. Evidence of successful completion, within 2 years of the date of application, of the National Home Inspector Examination as administered by the Examination Board of Professional Home Inspectors.
3. National Home Inspector Examination fee is $195.00.
4. Completed Fingerprint Cards (2) and processing fee of $39.00.
5. Application fee in the amount of $90.00.
6. Upon obtaining the application forms, fill them out completely and send along with the appropriate fee(s) to:

7. Evidence of successful completion of 80 hours of classroom training.
8. Legible Board log of the required 30 parallel in-training home inspections completed, conducted on separate residential dwelling units, in the presence of a certified home inspector, meeting the standards required. (A computer printout of the information is acceptable)
Note: The candidate's application package for certification as a home inspector may be held in abeyance for a period of one year to allow for the completion of the requisite number of parallel home inspections.
9. Proof of financial assurance as specified in A.R.S. § 32-122.02(B) must be provided within 60 days of receipt of certification.

2. If you will also be requesting membership in The American Society of Home Inspectors you will need to register for this examination as well. Both examinations are given at the same location.

National Home Inspectors Examination = $195.00
Four Hour Exam; 200 questions; multiple choice

5. Results of the examinations will be given immediately. The examinations are pass/fail.
If an individual fails either of the examinations they will receive a number score which should help them determine where they stand.
6. Retesting is available in NOT less than 30 days. In order to retest the student must have the
original score sheet from their examination and call the above number to reschedule.
There is no limit to the number of times you can retest.
7. The American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) membership may be obtained by
submitting 50 home inspections, plus the results from the National Home Inspectors
Examination and Professional Standards and Practices Examination to them.
