William R. Gray Steps to Obtaining a Real Estate Sales License I. Complete a 90 Hour Course A. 18 classes equaling 90 hours of pre-licensing education must be completed. A1 through A9 and B1 through B9. • View Scottsdale Class Schedules • View Gilbert Class Schedules B. Class credit cannot be given for more than 2 classes (9 hours) of education daily. II. Pass a School Examination A. All classes must be completed prior to taking the school exam. B. You may register for the school exam at www.asreb.com. You will be required to enter your student ID number and your name EXACTLY as it appears on your student ID. If you do not have online access please contact the school Monday Thru Friday 7:30am to 3:30 pm. C. The school exam is 200 multiple-choice questions, with a 75% passing score. You must check-in 15 minutes early for your scheduled exam. Late arrivals will not be permitted to take the exam. You are given four (4) hours to complete the exam. D. Exam results will be posted online at www.asreb.com within 24 hours of your scheduled exam. E. Exam results are available for review at the Scottsdale school for students who receive scores greater than 65%. Test review will be on Tuesday and Thursday 10 am - noon, in Scottsdale, if you started at our Gilbert Campus you will review at that campus from 10 am - noon Thursday in Gilbert. F. Students with scores 65% or lower are encouraged to study before registering for another exam. III. Course Completion Time Limit
B. Extension course fee's: non-refundable fees will be charged as follows: • More than 6 mos. from enrollment date - less than a year -- 1/3 of regular tuition;C. Extension Exam Fee: Any student wishing to extend testing time will be allowed to do so by paying the non-refundable extension fee of $100. This will allow students another 3 months in which to test and attend the Basic Sales Licensing State Exam Review. IV. Taking the State Examination
A. Register and Schedule your examinations with Thomson Prometric. In order to register and schedule your state exam you must have your Prelicensure Education Certificate and Candidate Information Bulletin.
B. State Exam consists of 80 general real estate (120 minutes) and 60 Arizona State Law multiple-choice questions (90 minutes). 75% is the passing ratio for each of the two exam sections (not a combination of exams). V. "Bootcamp" Certification A. After passing the school exam and prior to being licensed, the A.D.R.E. requires each student to attend a 6-hour course in contracts called "Introduction to Contract Writing" or "Bootcamp". B. This course fulfills 3-hours of of Real Estate Legal Issues (L) and 3-hours of Contract Law (CL) renewal credits. Certification will be given at the end of class. C. Pre-Registration and Pre-payment of the $35 fee is required. Click here for the Intro. to Contract Writing ("Bootcamp") Schedule. VI. Applying For Your License A. License application takes place at: The Arizona Department of Real Estate B. The following information will be required when applying for your license:
√ Pass certification (from Thomson Prometric - Experior testing center). √ Fingerprints on an A.D.R.E. approved fingerprint card. (Click here for the school fingerprint schedule) √ "Bootcamp" completion certificate (Introduction to Contract Writing) √ To activate your license with a broker, you must present a hiring form provided by your broker. Your broker may obtain this form from the A.D.R.E. website at www.azre.gov √ ADRE license fees are: $119.00 (active license). $99.00 (inactive license).
