One of the few remaining advantages of operating a business through an S corporation rather than a limited liability company relates to employment taxes. An LLC owner’s entire share of profits from the business is subject to self-employment tax. With an S corporation, only the wages paid to the owner are subject to employment taxes, and any remaining profit of the S corporation, although taxable to the owner, is not subject to employment taxes.
