A loan processor is the intermediary between the lender and the underwriter. The loan processor works with the lender to prepare the loan file for the underwriter and works with the underwriter to gather additional information needed to approve the loan. The exact duties to be fulfilled by the loan processor may differ based on the lender, the underwriter, and type of loan. In this class, we will focus on the typical duties of loan processor specific to gathering the documentation to support the loan application and, once the documentation is gathered, ensuring the applicant meets the minimum qualifying standards required for loan approval.
