What Can a Real Estate Assistant Do?

I have had the good fortune at various times in my real estate career to experience having a real estate assistant by my side and I can tell you that the work they do can be invaluable. Trained real estate assistants, licensed or unlicensed can do some tasks that keep you buried and away from such things as building your data base, working directly with clients, and providing great customer service. Like any business in order to grow, we need to let go of some of the tasks that others can do, and in some cases better than we can. Highly successful real estate professionals recognize where their strengths are and capitalize on those strengths, which for many of us are not the day to day details such as transaction management or marketing. The real estate assistant can put those precious minutes back into our 24 hours which over the life of a career can be monumental.

I am an instructor here at the Arizona School of Real Estate and Business and have had the privilege of teaching some very talented and enthusiastic people who are rich with past experiences that would be a great asset to any real estate professional’s business. Some students become so excited about the things they learn, they go on to get their license which can offer even greater opportunities for themselves and the agent, team, or office they work for.

As a real estate professional I would like you to take a minute, and imagine yourself asking your assistant to start a file on a client, organize documents, create the listing in ARMLS, schedule inspections, follow up on showings, or set up your marketing. Just imagine! The possibilities are endless in what you could do with that time. Maybe reach out to past clients, or even spend the evening with your family instead of at the computer until midnight!

If you are unlicensed, a newly licensed agent, or would like to be involved in a position other than as a salesperson, I would make this recommendation. Think about the real estate assistant role. Not only do you have the opportunity to learn from the experience of someone who is actively engaged in the business of real estate, but you could be instrumental in helping to grow their business and be that “invaluable” person who could make the difference for them right now.

Our Real Estate Assistant classes are available in February, April, June, August, October and December of 2015. The class attendance is Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 12:30 for a full week. Please call the school or check our website for the next upcoming class.

If you are looking to hire an assistant from our course, please contact the school at 480-946-5388. Each courses  we compile a list of agents/brokers looking for an assistant and give to our students as a courtesy.
