How can I be sure a career in real estate is for me?
Real estate is, above all else, a customer service business. You will be involved in what will be one of the biggest purchases/sales in someone’s life. We would encourage you to sit down and review your career objectives and what you want to get from your career. Discuss those issues and goals with someone who knows first hand what the industry is like and then make your decision. See our Career Event section for more details.
Why become a real estate agent?
If you’ve ever considered a fresh start in a lucrative career, there has never been a better time to become a real estate agent. As a real estate agent, you have the opportunity to help people with one of the biggest decisions of their life – buying a home! In addition to helping people, here are a few of the many reasons why becoming a licensed real estate agent could be the right fit for you:

You have the fulfilling task of helping people with their home buying or selling experience.

The economy ebbs and flows, but at the end of the day, there will always be customers in need of your services and support to buy and sell homes.

Make your own hours that work for you and your schedule.

You’ll have the chance to meet new people and be social in your community on a daily basis.

Take your career to the next level by becoming a licensed real estate broker. Be your own boss and build a team of your own.

The average salary for a real estate sales agent is $55,860*. Depending on your personal business goals, the sky’s the limit when it comes to your earning potential.

House flipper, property manager as well as any company that expands and builds new office sites, or has a land acquisition department.

*Bureau of Labor Statistics (2018)

Do I need a broker to take the courses?
No. It is not necessary to have a broker for you to take our courses. When you apply for your license after passing both the school and state exams and wish to have an active license, you must hang your license with a broker so that you may practice real estate. Choosing a broker can be a great source of support and knowledge while you complete your course of study, but not necessary for attending classes.
How long is my education good?
Your education is good for 10 years. However, we recommend that you do not wait that long to put them to use.
Is working part-time in the real estate industry possible?
That is a question that is really best answered by your broker. The answer to that question may also vary depending on the company. So, if this is important to you, be sure to ask before you commit to a broker.

Class Offering Questions

How does the Proctored Final Exam work?
The cost of the Proctored Online Exam through our third-party partner, ProctorU, is included in our package pricing,so long as you choose an online exam time that is at least 72 hours away from the time of registration. You will only be asked to pay a convenience fee should you schedule an exam that is less than 72 hours’ notice. You will have three chances to take and pass the proctored online test. If you do not pass on the 3rd attempt, your student account will be locked from taking the test again until you have completed one of our Virtual Instructor Q&A Sessions. Effective 1/4/21
What classroom scheduling options do you offer and how flexible is my schedule?
It is a priority for us to make scheduling convenient for you. We offer more scheduling options than any other school in Arizona. Our unique schedule allows you to complete the courses in as little as two weeks. We offer courses on weekdays, weekends and evenings. With many campuses to choose from, the Arizona School of Real Estate & Business offers you many options. A career specialist will work with you to ensure that you properly schedule your courses so you can attend every session.
What is the difference between online and Livestream learning?
Our online learning format is “self-paced,” meaning you can take courses on your own time, at your own pace. Livestream learning is instructor-led in real-time via Zoom.
Are there any similarities between online and Livestream learning?
Yes! Both online and Livestream learning feature our expert-developed course material that you can take from the comfort of your own home.
What are the benefits of the online learning format?
With our self-paced online learning format, you’ll go at your own speed through the courses. You’re not on a set schedule, so you can choose to take the courses anytime and anywhere with an internet connection. Our online course format features written material with recorded video of our experienced instructors mixed in to keep you engaged.
What are the benefits of Livestream learning?
Our Livestream courses are most similar to the classroom learning experience, as they are taught by an instructor via Zoom in real-time. It’s a great option for students who benefit from an interactive instructor experience. With Livestream learning, you’ll attend class virtually with other students at scheduled times, just like you would in the classroom!
How do I know which learning format works best for me?
When making the decision between online and Livestream learning, it’s important to think about your learning style and schedule. If you need the flexibility of learning when and where you want, our online option is the format for you – if you find that you learn better from an interactive instructor and have the time in your schedule to attend class, Livestream learning is for you.
Is there a lot of outside work in the classes?
We understand that if you are in class all day, studying in the evening after classes is not always possible. Our instructors do a great job at highlighting the most important information in class. However, reviewing, reading and studying after hours helps to better prepare you for passing the state exam the very first time. Keep in mind that the classes are spaced in such a manner that any assignments are easily managed.
What if I fail my exam?
You can take the school exam with ProctorU as many times as you need within 6 months of purchasing your course. We are here to help you succeed and have many options to help you along your way to becoming a great real estate agent. Click here to view our exam prep products.
How long does it take to get my license?
We offer several flexible options where you can complete the program as quickly as 9 days or spread it out over 6 weeks. With online, daytime, afternoon, evening and weekend classes you are sure to find something that will work for you! Once you have completed your courses you will still need to complete your fingerprint clearance card, the school exam, state exam and the introduction to contract writing course before applying for your license. Click here to view our Course Guide.
How many classes can I take in one day?
The Arizona Department of Real Estate limits students to two sessions (10 hours) per day. For more information on Arizona laws and regulations, visit www.azre.gov.
How old must you be to get licensed in real estate in Arizona?

In 2019 Governor Doug Ducey signing HB 2569: “Occupational Licensing; Reciprocity” into law. This allows out of state licensees to waive their 90 hours of education requirement but other requirements must be met.
