Instructor Highlight: Kate Roth

Kate Roth

Kate Roth has been in the real estate industry for nearly 17 years. After working in retail for a number of years she decided it wasn’t for her, made the leap to real estate, and never looked back.

She began her career in real estate as a bookkeeper for a property management company in Colorado and learned the business from the inside out. Shortly after, she earned her real estate license and became the company sales agent. Kate continued to move up the real estate ladder with a new company and after just six months, she became the employing broker. Fast forward to five years ago, Kate took another leap and made the move to Arizona for a job with a new brokerage where she continued to grow her career.

Kate exemplifies the phrase, “if you can dream it, you can do it,” because she has overcome her fear of public speaking. It was several years ago when she made the decision to let go of her fear. She said it wasn’t easy, but she had some advice for anyone who shares her old phobia:

“It was a lot of repetition that helped me. I joined a group that met every week. And every week I got up and did my presentation no matter how scared I felt. I also think it was just making the decision to get over the fear. When you decide to do something and focus on it, you can do so much. Don’t get me wrong, I’m human and I still get nervous sometimes, but it’s much different now.”

And it’s a good thing Kate focused on overcoming her fear of public speaking because it opened the door to being an instructor. She loves the challenge of helping students grasp difficult concepts and witnessing the moment it becomes clear to them.

“I love helping others and seeing people succeed. When I get the ‘I PASSED’ texts from former students, it feels good to know I was part of helping them find success.”

Kate has created success in her own real estate life too, as she launched her very own brokerage in 2022, Amethyst Realty Group. She’s excited to be working for herself and blazing her own path. She also stays active in the real estate community through the National Association of Residential Property Managers and BNI West Connections.

In her free time, Kate enjoys going to car shows, spending time with friends, and staying involved with Arizona Boston Terrier Rescue.

“The phrase, ‘when you love what you do, you don’t work a day in your life,’ is very true for me these days!”
